I have a friend who lives an early 20th century lifestyle in a victorian farm house with Victrola phonograph record players, a wood burning cookstove and chickens.  My friend asked me if I could illustrate a story he wrote about a chicken of his who had been hit in the road and helped to back to recovery by his Amish neighbors.  The chicken, who he called Chicken Little, took up residence with him inside his home while it recovered.  Chicken Little loved to dance and sing to one of the songs he played on his victrola player.  I hung out with the chickens for a little while as I painted inside the cozy Victorian farmhouse while enjoying cinnamon rolls fresh out of the cast iron cookstove.  I grew to appreciate the free spirit of the chickens with each of them having unique personalities.  "Support" was created in the spirit of what I felt during this time.
